One secure link per client
Send a private intake link by text or email. Clients open it on their phone — no account, password, or app download to create first.
Secure document intake for professional firms
DocuLazo sends your client one secure link in their own language. They verify with a text code and upload from their phone — you review clean PDFs instead of hunting through texts, emails, and photo dumps.
Registrations are reviewed before access is enabled — typically within 1–2 business days.
Document Requests
Create a request, copy the client link, review clean PDFs.

Features
Most clients have a phone, not a scanner. DocuLazo meets them there — without turning your inbox into the filing system.
Send a private intake link by text or email. Clients open it on their phone — no account, password, or app download to create first.
A 6-digit code confirms the client’s mobile number before uploads open, so sensitive documents are not sitting behind a bare link.
Your team works from standardized English templates, while clients see translated, localized instructions on their phones in any of 10 languages — Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian Creole, French, Chinese, Vietnamese, Russian, Tagalog/Filipino, Korean, or English — without having to translate checklists yourself.
Three pay stubs? Six months of statements? Clients can add up to 10 files under one checklist item instead of squeezing everything into one upload.
Photos are converted to PDFs with the words extracted in English and your client's language — staff can search, copy, and file the actual text. Preview, approve, or download everything as one ZIP.
After a client uploads, a quiet background check flags wrong documents, blurry photos, or IDs that look expired — and adds a short English summary for foreign-language files. Staff see Looks good or Review suggested; your team still approves or requests the retake.
Request a clearer photo with a preset or custom reason. DocuLazo texts and emails the client a secure link so they fix it without your staff double-messaging them.
When the package is ready, click Send to integrations. A Zapier (or Make) webhook delivers a short-lived ZIP link into the systems you already use — DocuLazo stays the conveyor, not another vault.
Choose a retention window per intake. When it closes, uploaded files are automatically purged — DocuLazo is a secure pass-through, not another archive.
How it works
Pick a checklist template, toggle off what this client doesn’t need, and add any custom documents. Clients agree to texts on DocuLazo’s ready-made opt-in page before the first SMS — no paper waiver to chase.
They open the secure link, enter the texted code, and work through a simple checklist — in their own language. A review assistant quietly checks each file in the background.
Staff see Looks good or Review suggested, approve or request a retake (client gets text and email), then download a ZIP or send the package to Clio, Drive, or ShareFile via Zapier before auto-purge.

Think armored truck, not vault. DocuLazo collects documents securely and hands them to your firm — your case or accounting system stays the long-term home for files.
Most document portals were built for desktop computers and IT departments. They assume your clients have a scanner and the patience for yet another password. In the real world, clients get locked out, give up, and text you blurry photos instead — leaving your staff to clean up the mess.
| DocuLazo | Traditional portals / DMS | |
|---|---|---|
| The client experience | ||
| Getting access | Instant — the client opens a secure link and enters a 6-digit text code. No account, password, or app. | An emailed invite, a profile to create, and a password to set and remember |
| Phone photos | Converted into PDFs with searchable, extracted text in English and the client's language | Stored exactly as taken — crooked, shadowed, and unsearchable |
| Language | 10 client languages built in — checklist, portal, messages, and document OCR in the client's language | English-first; Spanish is partial, an add-on, or left to your staff to translate |
| Multiple files | Up to 10 files under one checklist item — six pay stubs still live under “Pay Stubs” | Often one file per slot, so extra files land in the wrong place |
| The firm experience | ||
| How long files stay | Auto-purge after your chosen retention window — a pass-through, not a warehouse for client SSNs | Stored indefinitely by default, until someone remembers to delete them |
| Review workflow | Gatekeeper — review assistant flags bad uploads, staff approve or request a retake (client is notified), then ZIP download or Send to integrations | Filing cabinet — uploads land straight in your folders, ready or not |
| Handoff to Clio / Drive / ShareFile | Zapier or Make webhook pushes the finished package into tools you already use | Manual download and re-upload, or a locked-in native connector for one system only |
| Pricing shape | Flat price per firm — add staff without adding seats; SMS usage visible in Settings | Per-user pricing that grows with every new hire |
Already have ShareFile, SmartVault, or MyCase? Keep it. DocuLazo is the step before it — the clean, verified, multilingual front door that feeds it finished packages instead of chaos.
FAQ
No. Clients open a private link, verify with a 6-digit code sent to their phone, and upload. There is nothing to install and no password for them to manage.
Register your firm and tell us your practice type. We review each registration; when approved, the firm owner receives login credentials by email, sets a new password, and finishes a short setup before the dashboard opens.
Yes. Each checklist item accepts up to 10 files, so several pay stubs or months of statements can live under one request. Staff can preview and download each file, or grab them all in a ZIP.
Ten languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian Creole, French, Simplified Chinese, Vietnamese, Russian, Tagalog, and Korean. Clients can switch language in the portal; English and Spanish checklists are hand-written, and the rest are translated automatically when you create the intake. Document photos are also read (OCR) in English plus the client's language.
Only for the retention window you choose for that intake (for example 7, 14, or 21 days after completion). Files are then permanently purged. Download the ZIP or send it to your case system via integrations before that date.
No. A review assistant flags issues like a wrong document type, a blurry photo, or an ID that may be expired, and can suggest a retake reason. Your staff still approve or request the retake — the assistant never auto-rejects on its own.
Yes — through Zapier or Make. Connect a webhook in Settings, then click Send to integrations on an intake. DocuLazo posts a short-lived ZIP link your Zap can upload into Clio, Google Drive, ShareFile, and similar tools. Native one-click Clio OAuth is not required for handoff.
No. DocuLazo is intake software for professional offices. It does not provide legal, immigration, tax, or accounting advice.
